December 3rd is Giving Tuesday and for the first time ever, United Way of Central Georgia is launching a Giving Tuesday campaign. Giving Tuesday began on November 27th, 2012 as an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the holiday season and has become the world’s largest single day of generosity. The name, Giving Tuesday, was developed following the same ideas of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but of course designed for people to do good by giving back.
United Way of Central Georgia hopes to unleash the power of social media and e-giving on the international day of giving to help further the cause of ending generational poverty in Central Georgia. A social media and email marketing campaign is currently underway to target donors and capitalize on Giving Tuesday. Four Giving Tuesday sponsorship options are available to donors wishing to be a part of the movement.
