Groups

Are you part of a volunteer group eager to make a positive impact in our community? Look no further! United Way provides various opportunities for volunteer groups to get involved and give back. Here's how your group can make a difference:

  1. Explore Volunteer Opportunities: Find exciting volunteer opportunities by browsing our volunteer platform. Discover projects that align with your group's interests and passions. Alternatively, you can reach out to Volunteer United, where dedicated staff will assist you in finding the perfect volunteer activity.

  2. Host a Drive or Packing Party: Take your group's involvement to the next level by hosting a drive or packing party. These events are an excellent way to collect essential items or assemble care packages for those in need. Your efforts will have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families in our community.

For volunteer groups with specialized projects, or if you have specific ideas for how your group can contribute, please contact Amber Morris at amorris@unitedwaycg.com. Amber will be thrilled to help you create a unique and impactful volunteering experience.

Volunteer with Read United

If you seek a rewarding and recurring volunteer opportunity, look no further than Read United. Together with the volunteers in our community, Read United strives to close achievement gaps, increase graduation rates, and disrupt the cycle of poverty through two tutor-based programs: AARP Foundation Experience Corps and Read2Succeed.

To volunteer with Read United:

  • Commit to tutoring 1-4 hours a week.
  • The program runs from early September to late April, allowing you to make a meaningful, long-term impact on a student's life.
