United Way brings Tree of Thanks to life to thank hospital heroes

Essential workers at hospitals across Central Georgia have worked long hours, long days and extra shifts to help take care of the influx of COVID-19 patients. From nurses and doctors to administration and staff, they are putting themselves in the path of this virus to help take care of our family members and neighbors. The ‘Tree of Thanks” is an opportunity for the community to express appreciation and gratitude for these everyday heroes. This is a free online portal where anyone can write a quick note to these essential workers to say ‘thank you’ for their courage and bravery during these tough times. United Way will be collecting these online submissions through August 17th. Once notes are submitted, they will be printed onto cards and delivered on a tree filled with thank you cards to area hospitals.

“Almost everyone I talk to now has a story about a friend or family member impacted by COVID-19,” said George McCanless, President & CEO of United Way of Central Georgia. “And those who have been affected have the utmost appreciation and gratitude for the incredible job our health care professionals are doing. These notes are just one way that we as a community can express our heartfelt thanks for their dedication, commitment and courage.”
