Volunteer United Coordinator 


ORGANIZATIONAL GOAL: Establish UWCG as the preferred provider of volunteer experiences for active and prospective corporate and nonprofit partners, individuals, families, and donor segments.

The Volunteer United Coordinator is tasked with interacting with people from corporate, nonprofit, and other sectors of the community to promote volunteerism and add value to the LIVE UNITED brand through year-round community presence.
The Volunteer United Coordinator locates, catalogs, and publicizes opportunities for volunteer engagement throughout the Central Georgia area.

Mobilize and connect volunteers by managing a robust and comprehensive online volunteer database. 
     a.  Manage all aspects of volunteer database, ensuring accuracy of current offerings
     b.  Work with entities to get new offerings into the database 
     c.   Networks with other staff such as 2-1-1, First Steps, etc. to identify potential offerings
Works collaboratively with United Way Resource Development staff, other teams, and community partners to provide volunteer opportunities and maintain positive relationships with key corporate partners and providers of opportunities.
Communicates with marketing and communications personnel to promote volunteering and volunteer opportunities.  Assist with production of volunteer opportunity publications.  Participates in United Way sponsored events, such as kickoff, annual meeting, special events, etc.
Provides staff support to Volunteer United Committee.
Keeps abreast and knowledgeable about issues and trends of volunteer engagement by networking with local, state, and national sector knowledge leaders and software vendor user groups.
Is available to assist with the planning of volunteer mobilization for large-scale events such as Read Across America and Day of Action and mobilize resources to execute the plan.
Is available to assist with the recruitment of volunteers during times of large-scale disasters.

Represents United Way positively, professionally, courteously, and effectively.
Outgoing and communicates effectively with a variety of people.
Understands the importance of thanking volunteers and does so in various formats.
Ability to present information and data in written, electronic, and oral forms to diverse target markets.
Proficient in computer skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Expected to have a commitment to excellence and to the mission of UWCG.
Must have current driver’s license and reliable transportation and can lift at least 20 pounds. 
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and/or experience coordinating volunteers.
