United Way of Central Georgia and the Gibson Family/ Glad Rags Foundation hosted the 10th Annual Glad Rags Roaring 20’s Golf Tournament Friday, December 6th at the beautiful Club at River Forest in Forsyth, Georgia. Proceeds from the tournament will support Central Georgia families in need during the holidays.
“There is nothing better than knowing that a family has gifts for their children and food to eat, especially during the holidays,” said George McCanless, President and CEO of United Way of Central Georgia. “And when we realize the key to happiness is improving the happiness of others, our world becomes a much better place.”
The Glad Rags tournament is an annual favorite of area golfers, particularly due to the participants wearing their favorite 1920’s inspired golf attire. In addition to standard tournament awards, the coveted “Best Dressed” trophies for men and women inspire very creative outfits for area golfers. This year's winner of the Best Dressed award was Roy Milligan and Stephanie Folsom.
Putting contest: Kyle Staples
Overall team winner: Joe Brown, Kelly Yielding, Wade Turner, Mark Minter
"I love Christmas too. We are thankful for Merrie and her genuine love for this season. So, to partner up with the Kaplans and The Merrie Christmas Project is absolutely a thrill. We are doing something that's helping so many people and it makes me feel good, but it should also make you feel good. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you," said Danny Gibson, founder of Gibson Family/ Glad Rags Foundation Golf Tournament.
