I'm Scott Sapp and I LIVE UNITED

Underneath everything we are, underneath everything we do, we are all people.  Connected, interdependent, united.  And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.  That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.  United Way and our 38 partner agencies are committed to advancing the common good in the 14-county area we serve.

What this means is creating opportunities for a better life for us all.  We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable and when people have good health.  These results have benefits that ripple out to the community as a whole.

There are basic things that we all need for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job; income that can support a family through retirement; and good health.  United Way is focused on these building blocks for a better life.

  • EDUCATION - Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
  • INCOME - Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
  • HEALTH - Improving People's Health

Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of problems.  We don’t just address the symptoms of a problem; we go deeper to get at the underlying causes.  Living United means being a part of the change.  It takes everyone in the community working together to create a brighter future. The vast majority of United Way’s support comes from local companies and their employees. The success of the annual campaign is largely dependent upon the leadership that all of us as corporate leaders provide by enthusiastically supporting United Way's efforts.

I respectfully ask you to think about the power we have as a community to come together through United Way and create positive change. Please make a generous corporate contribution and conduct an energetic and focused employee campaign. Please consider a special leadership giving campaign among those in your company who are capable of giving $1,000 or more. Finally, I hope you and your employees will join with United Way in meeting our goal of making our communities better for all of us. Together, we can accomplish so much more than any one person can.

Give. Advocate. Volunteer.  LIVE UNITED.

Sincerely,
